The ISTD Student Assessment is now in its 36th year and is cited as a model of academic thoroughness and professionalism.
The Assessment is unlike any other. It considers the holistic project achievement – not just the final proposal. The overall design process of research, reflection, strategy, design development, technical and production specification is assessed by teams of practicing designers and educators. We demand this rigorous approach to ensure that the standards required for ISTD membership are met and that the award maintains its significance.
Cathy Cornish gained a merit in her iSTD ”Tweet Tweet” brief commenting on language in Social networks. She focused on the contrast between old and contemporary language by re-writing Shakespeare
The wonderful design studio ILD - ex students from this course - will be returning to give a talk after Easter - watch this space for further info…

Congratulations to Jason Bird for passing the iSTD
Students from the BA(Hons) Graphic Design at the University of Portsmouth raised money to help fund their London Show at the Rag Factory in July.
Some amazing prizes from some very generous people of Portsmouth were up for grabs including truck loads of artwork, prints, tees, books, graze boxes and even a bike…not just any bike though, the winner gets to design their own bike and have it especially custom built just for them! (big props to Ye Olde Bike Shoppe for this wonderful prize).
